Moscow Polytechnic Hosts the “Finatlon Forum”: A Platform for the Future of Sustainable Development and Finance

On December 3, Moscow Polytechnic wrapped up the final stage of its biannual Finatlon Forum, an international conference focused on sustainable development, investments, and financial risks. With active participation from 120 universities across Russia and 10 other countries, the forum truly showcased the global reach of these critical topics. More than 800 submissions were made, and after careful expert evaluation, over 400 works made it to the final stage—highlighting the brilliance and innovation of young minds tackling today’s most important global challenges.

This event, which has steadily grown in both reputation and significance, brings together young scientists, industry professionals, and students who are shaping the future of sustainability and finance.

What Made This Year’s Forum Special?

At its core, the Finatlon Forum isn’t just about giving academic speeches—it’s about conversations that matter. The three main categories of the forum this year, Sustainable Development, Investments, and Financial Risks, covered essential themes that truly impacted the way we think about our planet and economy.

Topics included:

  • ESG Communications—How businesses can make a real, lasting social impact.
  • Technological Sovereignty—Why digital independence is key to future development.
  • Sustainable Development Strategies—Innovative solutions for growing economies without hurting the planet.
  • Digital Finance—A whole new way to invest for a more sustainable future.

With 21 different thematic sections, the forum provided a dynamic platform where participants could not only share research but also brainstorm and collaborate with others around the world.

Why Does It Matter?

This isn’t just an academic conference—it’s a chance to discuss real-world solutions for some of the most pressing issues we face today, such as balancing financial growth with environmental sustainability. It’s all about taking big, complex topics like climate change, economic inequality, and financial stability and finding practical ways to make a difference.

And it’s inspiring to see so many young people—students and early-career professionals—step forward with innovative ideas and bold solutions. These aren’t just theoretical discussions, but tangible contributions to the future of finance and sustainability.

What’s Next for the Finatlon Forum?

As global challenges continue to evolve, so too will the Finatlon Forum. The 2024 edition of the event opened up exciting new conversations about the digital finance space, corporate responsibility, and investment in sustainability. The momentum from this year’s conference will undoubtedly inspire more forward-thinking solutions as future forums continue to foster innovation and global collaboration.

We can’t wait to see what the next Finatlon Forum will bring!
